CC-S 260 Twin Props
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:31:23 am »
If you have a 260 with Twin Engines  Should both Props turn the same direction or opposite?

if opposite which should turn in and which out?

If converting to opposite rotations what would be involved?

Most 260's turn the same direction.
The only way to get it to turn opposite is to get an outdrive specifically for that with reverse rotation.

This is the ideal setup but Alpha's are hard to comeby and counter rotating drives grab top dollar even used in any condition.

My 390x has counter rotation drives but I have TRS drives and big blocks so its a bit different but the boat pulls straight during acceleration. This si the main reason for this as same-rotation drives  pull to starboard when accelerating.

Look around for a counter-rotation Alpha and plunk it on. You will notice a definite difference. My buddy just did his this summer on his 26 foot and it made a heck of a difference. He ran the stock drives for years and it is a night and day difference! Much improved....

cool,  I am afraid it will be a "down the road" project, but I will keep my eyes out for the right stuff!

Try " offshoreonly.com " in the "swap shop" section.
I see them on there from time to time...
