dashboard graphics
« on: May 08, 2013, 04:38:46 pm »
I'd like to restore the graphic of the boat outline  and gauge labels on the dash with the indicator lights on my 88 312 fitti.
 Has anyone done this yet?

I took mine to a local graphics guy and he copied the original art work and printed me out new ones

This graphics guy...did he do "INK" or vinyl transfers?

Sounds interesting, please post pics!

My dash is starting to get sundrenched and I want to make it new again.

Oh and by the way, Han if your reading this, Thanks for the speedometer. I put it in two days ago and you would not believe how good my dash looks now with original instrumentation. All I need is one more oil gauge from VDO and I also want to re-do all three of my dash panels as mentioned in this thread.

Any picture editing program such as photoshop or any photo editing program.
All you do is open the picture and change the "size" to a smaller mgb number.

I was thinking of painting mine and putty a urethane clearcoat on it to protect it from UV rays.
The only problem I can forsee with the clear is that it would be extremely shiny and this may play havoc in the sunshine? The other problem I might encounter with vinyl is if I clear it it may wrinkle? I will have to do a test.
