Looking at buying one of these and can't really find much info on this model.  Wondering what speed should Iexpect from this boat with a pair of 200hp motors? Any major/minor issues I should be looking for? How do these boats handle? Any help would be great!

Thanks
Bubba

Hi Bubba

Check the transom and the second cross brace for moisture and rot. If the sliding door does not slide easy to the cuddy then the stringers are questionable.
Generally the boats are very good, however I have only seen one with outboards the rest with inboards.

Bubba - I assume you are talking about a Scorpion 311VF - which should be similar to the Stinger 311s.  Have a look at the following boat: http://www.chriscraftstingers.com/gallerypage.php?gallerydir=Bad%20Example - I know the owner of the boat and he's very knowledgeable about the 311/313s.  He takes his boat out in the Gulf of Mexico so he should be able to tell you a little about the handling as well.

Yes, the Stinger 311VF and from what I have found same hull as it's stern drive brothers.  Guy I'm buying the boat from says the boat does close to 70....I'm thinking maybe that fast on the trailer on the freeway....lol  Assume with twin 200's, the boat will be mid to high 50's, but would like to know. Would like to chat with your friend and pick his brain some.  A little worried about a hopping issue the boat may have....both motors have stingray fins on them and that to me isn't a good sign.

Bubba - let me know what your email address is and I will forward to my friend.  You can send me your email to ccstinger@gmail.com.  Do you have any pictures of the boat or a hull number?  Might be able to tell you a little more about it.

Han.
