Title: Teleflex Gauges

I have a 1982 260 stinger and one of the tachometers needs replacing. the current Teleflex gauge has a black face, with orange and goes to 6k.  this tach has 3 pins on the back (4, 6 or 8 cyclinder) that has a wire connected to the 8.  the replacement Teleflex gauge doesn't have these pins, but a selector that points to either 4, 6 or 8.  If I replace my tach with this one, what do I do with the wire that is currently plugged into the 8 on the original tach?

Any help would be appreciated.
