Wow what a job. I'm uploading pics to photobucket and will post ASAP.
The old transom was rotted so bad it was like wet paper. Amazing that these boats are built so strong that there wasn't even one stress crack anywhere even without the structure of the wood.
Hoping to have the boat back on the water this spring.

I'd like to see your pictures! I'm just finishing up the complete replacment of the stringers and transom in my 260.

WOW - would you be writing any documentation ? I'm told in order to convert from OMC drives to Bravo the transom has to be redone, don't know how true it is but I'd like to get prepared. SUre like to see the picture process when you post !
Thanks

I have taken hundreds of pictures of this job and just now got them on my computer for upload.
Going from OMC to Bravo sounds like a lot of work. Chances are the transom in your boat has some rot in it anyway, though, so that makes upgrading to Bravo's pretty straightforward..... Just cut bravo cutouts after the new transom is in.

Link to the album with photos of the job from start to about a week ago.
I will organize it better later.

Good idea for changing to Bravo. OMC is not a good outdrive in comparison to a Bravo.
Bravo is much stronger and better drive!
