I have been extremely "Brand Loyal" for the last two decades. I have owned Larson, Thundercraft Sidewinder and a plethora of small boats, but I have owned a 210, 230, 245 with a big block, a 260 with twin small blocks and finally my Miami Vice Edition 390x.
I love Chris Crafts!
I have to say I enjoyed the 210 as my first real big boat as before I had ski boats etc but nothing like a serious, well built hull, with a cuddy. I did NOT like the OMC however.
The 230 I liked except for the mid engine. It was balanced well, but it was in the way I thought, and seating was weird.
The 245 was a stupid crazy boat the went far too fast and bounced too much in the water. The lake had to be like glass to actually enjoy the boat, and I sold it very promply for the option to buy a twin 260 which I had for seven years up until two weeks ago. I sold it to a guy here in Ontario and I will probably see it out on the lake next year.
I bought the 390x after pining over it for 24 years and my dream finally came true! I am the third owner of the boat since it was bought new, and it is in incredible shape! I drive it on Lake Ontario in fresh water and its a short cruise to Toronto on the other side of the lake. Love that boat!!!
I will probably be buried in it when I die.............
Have to vote for the 390X for sure!
