1984 Chris-Craft Stinger 230 XL - Click on images to zoom
It all started when My Dad bought a very very Cherry 1983 230Scorpion at Grand Sports center in Morris IL several years back, that set me to looking too and I found our 84 on EBay near Columbus OH, I bought it for around two grand and put a water pump impeller in it and ran it all the next season and had allot of fun with it. It had a replacement 350 and a decent alpha 1. Over that winter I had some of the upholstery re covered and I built a new tube frame bunk trailer. After a couple more years My Dad upgraded to an aluminum, headed 406 with aluminum exhaust so to keep up I rebuilt and installed an aluminum headed 427 with Gil manifolds .Still having an Alpha 1 I was easy on it and it did fine .Then last winter I changed to a Bravo 1 and replaced the floor and carpet and sanded the hull down and clear coated it and removed the stock swim platform and built and aluminum tube one for it. When I changed engines I added Side port exhaust also. I sort of hated to get rid of the original swim platform and the upside down looking original exhaust tail pipes but I liked that look but now I love it!
